I’M KARTHIK VERNEKAR, AN INDEPENDENT VISUAL DESIGNER BASED OUT OF BANGALORE, INDIA.
Vast majority of my work exclusively deals with visualizing for music and movies. I use type and typography as a central element for most of my designs, which often incorporate open-source assets to create a seamless experience for the user.
In my last 7 years of experience often switching between print and digital, from coming up with visuals for architectural spaces to creating digital experiences for products. I have been part of the process from the ideation phase to the end execution. My past expertise in design has helped me shape my design skills and use them efficiently in my independent design career.
My work spans creating brand/visual identities in print and digital medium, and crafting digital experiences all of which is rooted in research, strategy, and user experience, where I seek to translate the core messaging into simplified compelling visual systems. I believe in coming up with bold and high-impact solutions which challenge the status quo.
On my days off you can find me exploring obscure arthouse/exploitation films, reading Kannada novels, and gulping idlis for breakfast. For the last 3 years, or so I have been exploring and experimenting with procedural art for visualizing music.
